[kulemba source]Takes a date and returns "spring" if it's before July 1 and "fall" if it's on or after July 1. Defaults to the current date if none is provided. Can be combined with instances of {{As of}} with a dynamic date input by using the code {{As of|DATE|alt=As of {{semester|DATE}}}}. Note that advises against using seasons to indicate a general time of year, so more specific dates are often preferred when available, and it is better to write spring 2026 semester
than just spring 2026
.
If you want to use this for the southern hemisphere, tough luck, you'll have to modify this template to add a |hemisphere= parameter before you can use it. If you want to use this for trimesters, go make your own template.
