  • Ihuzaiful is a student at the same university where I study and appears to be passionate towards contributing on the encyclopedia. I guided him and he said that he had created accounts in past but all in mess. I made him declare having another account on userpage and he did it and then created this page. I reviewed the page and accepted it because it appeared notable to me. I hope he receives better guidance concerning DYK hook that he has provided. If he receives positive guidance and is mentored correctly, I believe he can contribute actively. Best, ─ The Aafī (talk) 04:20, 27 January 2023 (UTC)
  • @Ihuzaiful: Welcome to Did you know? and Wikipedia generally. Unfortunately this article is not currently up to DYK standards to feature on the main page (). The article meets some of the requirements; it was nominated the day after it was created, and the text is just over 1,500 characters. However, there are issues with the prose, in particular overly close paraphrasing of source 1, as well as various grammar problems, that need to be resolved. If the article is improved, you will also need to support the hooks (which are currently grammatically questionable as well) with direct quotes from sources (on this page). Thanks for your interest in contributing. Hameltion (talk | contribs) 21:24, 17 February 2023 (UTC)
    • Hameltion, thanks for reviewing this article created by @Ihuzaiful. I just did a bit of copyediting and Earwig just catches a quotation to have been copied. I would be glad to help with copyediting on this article. Please let me know if anything else in prose needs to be fixed. I might meet Ihuzaiful at the university and ask them to take care of this nomination. Best, ─ The Aafī (talk) 05:12, 25 February 2023 (UTC)
      • @TheAafi: Hi, I don't really see any improvement to the article. The paragraph breaks are helpful, but it's possibly now more difficult to read at the sentence level. For example, there was little grammatically wrong with the previous sentence "He began his career in journalism careerin 1952 when he started publishing a weekly newspaper named Kashmir from Azad Kashmir" (though there was and still is too close paraphrasing, and the source says only that Bhat worked there, not that he ran/published it). You changed it to "He began his career in journalism in 1952 with publishing a weekly newspaper entitled Kashmir. He published this newspaper from Azad Kashmir", which is more repetitive and does not read naturally. Also, overall I don't consider the paraphrasing problem resolved. For example, the sentences "Bhat was the first to use offset printing technology" and "[he] introduced photo journalism in the state" are taken directly from the first ref; additionally, "introduced photo journalism" is a kind of broad claim that deserves more than a passing mention for a citation. These are all just examples of things that could use work. If you do plan to improve the article for DYK, please revise or suggest some alternate hooks as well. • @Hameltion:, thanks for the review. I will just take care of some copyediting and Ihuzaiful would himself go with the DYK hooks. I have made some changes. Do you think the prose issue has been resolved? Best, ─ The Aafī (talk) 06:39, 25 February 2023 (UTC)
          • @TheAafi: I just made further edits myself; be sure to check that I didn't introduce any errors, especially re the Urdu-language primary source. It does strike me now that the article relies on basically just one reference, something not urgent to change but to think about adding. New hooks are very welcome. I want to upgrade this nom to , with really only the hook left to go. Hameltion (talk | contribs) 15:35, 25 February 2023 (UTC)
            • Everything looks fine @Hameltion: to me. I met Ihuzaiful at the university and they said they would be attending this nomination. Working on this nomination would increase their knowledge and they'd get to know several other things. ─ The Aafī (talk) 15:40, 25 February 2023 (UTC)
              • @Hameltion:, I feel like Ihuzaiful is not in a position to take care of this nomination and I am taking it over now. Please let me know what do you think of the below hooks? ─ The Aafī (talk) 08:19, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
  • ALT2: ... that Sanaullah Bhat has been called the father of press in Kashmir?
  • ALT2a: ... that Sanaullah Bhat is considered the father of journalism in Kashmir? "...paid rich tributes to the veteran journalist and the father figure of press in Kashmir Khwaja Sonaullah Bhat on his 13th death anniversary" ref 4. And there are more English-language sources not used in the article source a source b that describe him as "father of"
  • ALT3: ... that the first use of offset printing in Kashmir has been credited to Sanaullah Bhat?
  • ALT4: ... that Sanaullah Bhat has reportedly been described the initiator of photojournalism in Kashmir?
  • ALT2a (edited by me) is the only one of these that is broadly interesting, and I just added the refs here myself. Nice work, @TheAafi. Promoters, I would appreciate a closer than usual double check because the article started in an unpromotable state, and while improved it's not perfect. Hameltion (talk | contribs) 14:39, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
Thanks Hameltion, I really appreciate your assistance. I am okay with the modification that you made to the hook i.e. changing press into journalism. ─ The Aafī (talk) 14:43, 27 February 2023 (UTC)
@TheAafi and Hameltion: Source "a" and source "b" both support ALT2a much better (more literally) than the source given in the article. Would you be able to add these sources to the article? Cielquiparle (talk) 15:30, 8 March 2023 (UTC)
@Cielquiparle:, included, and made some more additions based on these two sources. ─ The Aafī (talk) 15:54, 8 March 2023 (UTC)
