Publishing information: Detroit library site indicates there is no copyright marking on either the front or back of the photograph. To confirm that there were no other markings an email to the librarian at the Detroit main library provided the following response. Carla Reczek wrote 29 September 2020, "Re: Contact Us [#3090] Thank you for contacting the Burton Historical Collection! I checked the original photograph in our files, but it did not have any additional information." "From the Speaker's Rostrum". April 28, 1963. Hartford, Connecticut: The Hartford Courant, p 9E confirms when the photo was published and a review of the masthead and the publishing data show no evidence that the newspaper was copyrighted. No entries for Hartford Courant, Glamor Pix, or any variation of Alma Vessells John's name in 1962, in 1963 it looks like the only issue they filed copyright on was 30 December 1962 and none in 1964
