Update request

[kulemba source]

Hello, Tumbuka Arch.

Can you rename Prince Andrew, Fumu ya York into Andrew Mountbatten Windsor (without the hyphen)?

After all his titles, honours and styles were stripped of him on 30 October 2025, he became plain (Mr.) Andrew Mountbatten Windsor (with no hyphen).

Here is the official statement from Buckingham Palace:

@Kurcke Thank you for this.I have moved it to current proper name. :) Tumbuka Arch★★★ 07:38, 2 Novembala 2025 (UTC)

AI-generated articles on tumwiki

[kulemba source]

Hi Tumbuka Arch, it's been a while. I thought I'd just let you know that Jon Gua/Caro de Segeda has been found to be dumping AI translations of articles crosswiki, you can refer to evidence at m:Steward requests/Miscellaneous#Mass machine translations/AI-generated pages or m:User:Ferien/Chabi (which is more of a work in progress). I wanted to let you know, as this is a wiki with active admins, the articles here won't be being deleted by stewards, so I would recommend you thoroughly review the articles and consider deletions. Best, Ferien (pakuchezgela) 22:16, 26 Malichi 2026 (UTC)

@Ferien, thank you. Yes, has been days indeed, and it's good to see you.
About the issue, I will take a look at the said articles and fix them.
The User Caro de Segeda (Jon Gua), on the other hand, has been very helpful on this wiki and it is him who has taught me almost everything about templates, special pages, or basically everything. Before me on this wiki, there was only you who was looking after (checking up on) this wiki. Then I came as a newbie only after I entered the wrong "www.wikipedia.org", instead of "en.wikipedia.org". The first link leads to many languages and I had little hope to find the wiki in my language. I was shocked to see this wiki. Few edits and you already helped me be a better editor, and few months Caro helped me. Since then, he has been helpful ever since with over 4,000 edits that matter to this community.
However, the AI articles are a serious case, and I hope he looks into that and fix them (or with the help of natives), assuming those articles aren't gone yet. Also, I will fix the ones that are here though I always patrol recent changes and new pages, fixing them along the way.
Thank you. - Tumbuka Arch★★★ 15:51, 28 Malichi 2026 (UTC)
He's now been globally blocked, so he can't fix them directly anymore. A steward is deleting the pages on the wikis without active admins, so no pages here will be deleted unless you or another admin choose to. AI-generated pages can sometimes be ok, but often suffer from hallucinations where it will confidently say something that isn't true, and occasionally have issues with sourcing if they are even present - in a lot of Jon Gua/Caro de Segeda's pages they just included no sources at all. You may be an eligible candidate for the U4C election

[kulemba source]

Greetings,

The Universal Code of Conduct Coordinating Committee (U4C) seeks candidates for the 2026 election. The U4C is the global committee responsible for overseeing enforcement of the Universal Code of Conduct. Elections are held annually, if elected a committee member serves for two years.

This year the U4C requires candidates to hold administrator rights on at least one wiki, which is why you are being contacted as you appear to hold this right. There are other requirements, such as candidates must be at least 18 years old and may not be employed by the Wikimedia Foundation or other related chapters and affiliates. You can find more information in the call for candidates on Meta-wiki. Additionally, the committee's working language is English; some ability to communicate in English is required.

The election opens on 18 May, if you are eligible and interested you have until 10 May to submit your candidacy. There will be a week in between for candidates to answer questions from the community. Voting takes place privately in SecurePoll, successful candidates must receive at least 60% support. More information is available on the 2026 Elections page, including timelines and other candidacy information. If you read over the material and consider yourself qualified, please consider submitting your name to run for the committee. If you think someone else in your community might be interested and qualified, please encourage them to run.

@Viyowoyero-vya-Malaŵi, hie yes. Any page you wanted me to import its revision? Yewo chomene. Tumbuka Arch★★★ 17:16, 22 Julayi 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Tumbuka Arch No sorry, I meant how can I import revisions myself. Yewo chomene. Viyowoyero-vya-Malaŵi★★★ 12:15, 23 Julayi 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Viyowoyero-vya-Malaŵi you don't have importer rights. Just another case I advised you to become an admin, to which you said you needed experience first. Again, they won't make you an admin without having a valid email address attached to your account. Tumbuka Arch★★★ 19:36, 24 Julayi 2026 (UTC)Reply
importer rights are bundled with admin right, but can also be requested separately. Tumbuka Arch★★★ 19:38, 24 Julayi 2026 (UTC)Reply
